Solid Oxygen Release Substrate Reagent
Proprietary oxygen release technology for enhanced aerobic biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons.
Overview
Provectus Oxygen Release Substrate (ORS) technology is a proprietary, field-proven source of dissolved oxygen plus inorganic nutrients (e.g., nitrogen) and buffer to enhance the aerobic degradation of groundwater contaminants such as petroleum hydrocarbons (e.g., BTEX, jet fuel, semivolatile organics, etc.). In the subsurface, the ORS materials will react with water to release oxygen slowly for extended periods.
Key Features
Technology Mechanism
ORS materials react with groundwater to slowly release dissolved oxygen over extended periods, creating and maintaining aerobic conditions in the treatment zone. The controlled oxygen release supports indigenous microbial populations capable of degrading petroleum hydrocarbons and other aerobically biodegradable contaminants.
The formulation also includes essential nutrients and pH buffering agents to optimize microbial activity and maintain favorable geochemical conditions throughout the treatment period.
