Electrokinetic ISCO Technology
Patented electrokinetic system combining ISCO, microbiological, and geophysical mechanisms for comprehensive aquifer treatment.
US Patent 9,975,156 B2
Patented subsurface electrokinetic treatment system
Overview
EBR® is a subsurface, electrokinetic system that continually generates within a reactor well Fenton's-like reagents and dissolved oxygen in a controlled manner, at neutral pH, and without the addition of exogenous chemicals.
These colloidal (nanoscale) catalytic and reactive reagents are uniquely propagated via multiple mechanisms outside the reactor well where they synergistically interact to oxidize and biodegrade groundwater contaminants.
Key Features
Technology Mechanism
The EBR® system operates through a unique combination of treatment processes:
- Electrokinetic generation of Fenton's-like reagents
- Controlled dissolved oxygen production
- Enhanced microbial degradation
- Chemical oxidation of persistent contaminants
Applications
- Plume containment
- Source area treatment
- Barrier systems
- Complex co-mingled plume sites
- Long-term groundwater management
- Challenging geochemical conditions
Target Contaminants
Patented Technology
Provect-EBR® is protected by US Patent 9,975,156 B2, representing a genuinely innovative approach to in-situ groundwater treatment through electrokinetic processes.
