Revitalizing New England: Brownfields Summit 2026

The Northeast Waste Management Officials' Association (NEWMOA) and the University of Connecticut Technical Assistance to Brownfields Program (UConn TAB), in partnership with the U.S. EPA Region 1 Brownfields Program and regional tribal and state brownfields programs, host the third biennial Brownfields Summit on December 9-10, 2026, at the Newport Marriott in Newport, Rhode Island.

Cleaning up and redeveloping brownfields strengthens local economies, supports job creation, revitalizes existing infrastructure, and improves community and environmental health. The 2026 Brownfields Summit provides a regional forum for learning, collaboration, and connection around these important issues.

The two-day program features plenary and breakout sessions, an exhibit area, and a networking reception on the first evening, with breaks throughout to connect with colleagues and explore the exhibit area. Approximately 300 attendees are expected, including tribal, state, and federal brownfields and waste site cleanup programs, economic development agencies, local governments, real estate developers, environmental professionals, and more.
